Insurance Coverage

Currently, most major insurance companies do not cover acupuncture treatment. A few private insurers may offer coverage; inquire with your insurer to find out what type of coverage may be available to you. Also, many businesses offer "flexible spending" plans, whereby pre-tax dollars can be set aside for medical care; many of these plans do cover acupuncture treatment. Flexible spending plans typically require employers to commit funds in October of the current year towards anticipated medical expenses for the upcoming calendar year. Inquire with your employer regarding the availability of a flexible spending plan in your workplace.
