Reintroduction of Acupuncture for our Seniors H.R. 3133

WASHINGTON, May 09, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA) and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) commend U.S. Representatives Judy Chu (D-CA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) for introducing [H.R. 3133], the Acupuncture for Our Seniors Act. The Acupuncture for our Seniors Act would authorize the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to recognize qualified acupuncturists as healthcare providers. Medicare recognition would enable qualified acupuncturists to provide covered services to Medicare beneficiaries, which will soon surpass 80-million Americans.

Patient testimonial kit- Help Move HR 3133 forward!

https://www.asacu.org/2022/04/heres-how-your-patients-can-help-move-hr4803-patient-testimonial-kit/

Join the ASA’s Medicare advocacy efforts by collecting testimonials from your patients to support H.R. 3133, The Acupuncture for Our Seniors Act. Patient testimonials are a great way to engage your patients and educate legislators on the benefits of receiving acupuncture. The Patient Testimonial Kit includes four documents that will guide you, and your patients, in gathering and submitting effective testimonials. You can choose to print out the forms and distribute them to your patients to complete and then return via email, or for patients that are comfortable completing these forms electronically, you can email them a link to our Google form.

No Surprises Act Facts

The ASA Insurance committee has provided clarification on the new No Surprises Act and how it affects acupuncturists and their practice.
